Building on the rapid customer adoption of IdentityServer and a reputation for best-in-class quality and flexibility, Duende is poised to expand rapidly into the broader Identity Access Management (IAM) market and help organizations secure the identity of their application users.

The Role

At Duende, we serve software developers who need identity and access control solutions for modern applications. As Director of Operations, you will:

  • Develop and refine operational processes that improve efficiency across business operations, including legal, HR, compliance, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with finance and leadership teams to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for operational initiatives.
  • Optimize internal tooling and systems to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve data-driven decision making.
  • Act as the primary coordinator between Duende Software and third-party legal counsel to negotiate, review, and execute customer agreements.
  • Ensure contract compliance, including tracking key obligations and renewals.
  • Develop internal contract management processes to streamline legal operations and minimize risk.
  • Lead the implementation and management of Employer of Record (EOR) and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) systems to support global hiring, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Develop and oversee benefits and training programs to support employee wellness, enable professional development, and maintain compliance.
  • Maintain and enforce company policies in alignment with employment laws and best practices.

The Team

You will lead Operations and report directly to the CFO. The Operations function will partner with all functional departments to streamline business operations, implement robust measuring and reporting of KPIs, and drive innovation and best-in-class execution across teams to accelerate our continued growth as the premier IAM solution for .NET.

About You

We are seeking someone who has:

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, legal coordination, HR management, or related fields.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of contract management and legal risk negotiation in a B2B software environment (JD/legal practice experience a plus, but not required).
  • Experience building capability and processes from scratch, with a bias to action.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations.

Salary and Location

    Duende’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, benefits, and equity. Our cash compensation (salary + bonus) range for this role is: $125,000 - $150,000. The stated geography for this role is Austin, Texas, however we will consider remote and flexible work arrangements worldwide. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience, domain-specific expertise, and other factors.
