Building on the rapid customer adoption of IdentityServer and a reputation for best-in-class quality and flexibility, Duende is poised to expand rapidly into the broader Identity Access Management (IAM) market and help organizations secure the identity of their application users.

The Role

At Duende, we serve software developers who need identity and access control solutions for modern applications. As Staff Accountant, you will:

• Help manage the order to cash process including contract processing, invoicing, and collections. This includes initiating and responding to customer inquiries and cross-collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, and Product.
• Prepare, review, and approve necessary journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules as part of the monthly close process.
• Create, improve, and document general processes for accounting transitions and functions.
• Assist with identifying risks, implementing controls, and maintaining supporting documentation to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with systems implementations as we enhance the finance & accounting technology stack.
• Provide support for our year-end audit, tax compliance, and the annual budget process.
• Complete special requests and ad-hoc projects, as needed.

The Team

This position offers a great opportunity for growth and learning through collaboration across a small, dynamic team. You will report directly to the CFO and work alongside experienced professionals across the business to build out a best-in-class finance & accounting organization.

About You

We are seeking someone who has:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field (required).
• Strong understanding and knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and similar products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to proactively and independently identify and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
• Ability to effectively prioritize, meet established goals, work independently, and perform in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment.
• A strong work ethic and desire to continually grow and develop professionally; awareness of what you don’t know and when to seek help/collaboration.
• Familiarity with Quickbooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a similar or related role is helpful, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.

Salary and Location

Duende’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, benefits, and equity. Our cash compensation (salary + bonus) range for this role is: $50,000 - $55,000. The stated geography for this role is Austin, Texas, however we will consider remote and flexible work arrangements worldwide. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience, domain-specific expertise, and other factors.
