The Company

Duende Software is defining the identity infrastructure category. Trusted by more than 2,500 organizations worldwide, Duende and our flagship product, IdentityServer, help the world’s most discerning organizations secure the identities of their users. After a decade of open source innovation, Duende IdentityServer was launched in 2020 to provide the world’s most customizable, extensible identity infrastructure for securing human and machine access and identity across modern .NET ecosystems and beyond.

With accelerating demand, strong financial performance, and a product roadmap expanding into federation, non-human identity, and modern developer tooling, Duende is now building the content distribution infrastructure to match its engineering ambition. An outstanding Developer Content Operations Manager is central to that mission.

The Role

Duende’s market is deeply technical. Our audience is made up of senior .NET developers, architects, engineering leaders, and security-conscious teams who evaluate products through documentation, code examples, search results, technical communities, peer recommendations, and the credibility of our thinking.

We are hiring a Developer Content Operations Manager to build and run the system that gets Duende’s developer content seen, trusted, shared, cited, and acted on by the right technical audiences.

This is not a traditional content production role. The center of gravity is distribution: identifying the channels where developers are already looking for answers, adapting content for those surfaces, coordinating with technical experts, measuring what works, and continuously improving how Duende shows up across the .NET, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and identity ecosystem.

This role reports to the Head of Growth and Marketing and works closely with Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Sales, and external contributors.

What You Will Build

  • Build and operate Duende’s developer content distribution system across organic search, AEO/GEO, email, community channels, partner ecosystems, developer newsletters, GitHub, Stack Overflow, .NET communities, and other high-intent developer surfaces.
  • Turn Duende’s technical expertise from Product, Engineering, and Customer Success into content that can be distributed across multiple formats and channels without diluting technical accuracy.
  • Create repeatable workflows for repackaging core technical ideas into articles, guides, tutorials, changelog explainers, comparison content, short-form posts, newsletter content, community responses, and partner-ready assets.
  • Build a content distribution calendar that aligns audience needs, business priorities, product launches, SEO/AEO/GEO opportunity, ecosystem conversations, and internal expert availability.
  • Improve Duende’s visibility in the places developers already look for answers, including search engines, AI answer engines, docs-adjacent discovery paths, technical communities, and trusted peer surfaces.
  • Build systems for earning authority through backlinks, community participation, external technical relationships, and contribution to relevant developer ecosystems.
  • Own the content operations required to support distribution, including intake, prioritization, review, publication, metadata, localization, governance, CMS workflows, docs coordination, and AI-assisted production.
  • Establish reporting across both distribution performance and operational health, including reach, engagement, search visibility, rankings, backlinks, referrals, assisted pipeline, publication velocity, and content reuse.
  • Maintain a high bar for technical credibility, clarity, and usefulness in every piece of content Duende publishes or distributes.

About You

You are a developer content operator who knows that great content does not win unless it reaches the right audience in the right places.

You understand developer audiences and know that trust is earned through usefulness, technical accuracy, specificity, and respect for the reader’s time. You are not trying to “market at” developers. You are trying to help them solve problems, make architectural decisions, and understand complex technical tradeoffs.

You are part content strategist, part distribution operator, part systems builder. You can work with engineers, product managers, developer advocates, marketers, and external contributors, then turn limited expert input into a much broader distribution footprint.

You are organized, analytical, and commercially aware. You care about publishing quality work, but you care even more about whether the right people actually see it, use it, share it, link to it, and trust Duende more because of it.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to drive distribution of developer, technical, or B2B software content across multiple channels.
  • Experience growing visibility through organic search, developer communities, newsletters, partner channels, documentation surfaces, social platforms, or other high-intent technical channels.
  • Strong developer audience fluency, especially around SDKs, developer tools, infrastructure software, APIs, platforms, security, or identity.
  • Experience turning expert technical input into a larger portfolio of useful, accurate, distributed content.
  • Strong understanding of content repurposing, channel strategy, technical SEO, metadata, content briefs, editorial calendars, and performance measurement.
  • Technical literacy sufficient to work credibly with engineers, review code-adjacent content, understand developer workflows, and protect accuracy.
  • Familiarity with content operations tools such as CMS platforms, docs platforms, DAM systems, analytics tools, project management systems, and AI-assisted content workflows.
  • Strong analytical ability, including comfort tracking distribution performance, operational KPIs, search visibility, engagement, backlinks, conversion paths, and feedback loops.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex technical ideas without distorting them.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, DevRel, Marketing, Sales, and external contributors.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with .NET, C#, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWTs, SAML, identity infrastructure, or security/developer tooling.
  • Nice to have: experience building relationships with external developer surfaces such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, technical communities, foundations, partners, influencers, or independent technical creators.

How You Work

  • You think distribution-first: who needs this, where will they find it, why will they trust it, and what should they do next?
  • You build systems that make scarce expert time go further.
  • You respect developers’ time and intelligence by making content useful, direct, and technically accurate.
  • You prioritize credibility over volume when accuracy is at stake.
  • You are collaborative and humble, but confident enough to bring a strong point of view.
  • You can set a 12-month vision while still fixing this week’s workflow gaps.
  • You use data, feedback, and experimentation to improve both reach and quality.
  • You are willing to be wrong in public, learn quickly, and correct course.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days:

  • You have audited Duende’s current developer content, distribution channels, search visibility, community presence, content workflows, and measurement gaps.
  • You have identified the highest-leverage distribution opportunities across search, docs, email, community, partner, and developer-specific channels.
  • You have created a prioritized developer content distribution roadmap based on audience needs, business priorities, search opportunity, ecosystem conversations, and input from Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Marketing.
  • You have launched a repeatable process for turning internal technical expertise into distributed content across multiple formats and channels.
  • You have established baseline reporting for distribution performance, including search visibility, traffic, engagement, referrals, backlinks, content reuse, and contribution to pipeline or product interest.
  • You have improved the reach and performance of at least one high-priority developer content program, such as technical guides, comparison content, documentation-adjacent content, changelog explainers, or .NET ecosystem content.
  • You have earned trust from technical stakeholders by increasing Duende’s external visibility without lowering the bar for technical quality.
